A Child Loaned
"I'll lend you for a little time
A child of Mine," He said,
"For you to love the while she lives,
And mourn for when she's dead.

I want this child to learn.

In my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,

I fancied that I heard them say,
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter her with tenderness,
We'll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her,
Much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand."
rose once grew
where all could see,
sheltered beside
a garden wall,
And as the days passed
swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall...
One day, a beam of light
shone through
a crevice that had
opened wide ~
The rose bent gently
toward its warmth
then passed beyond
to the other side
Now, you who deeply
feel its loss,
be comforted ~ the rose blooms there ~
its beauty even greater now,
nurtured by
God's own loving care.

Today we had your Funeral. We didn't like it. We had to watch them bury you, in your tiny coffin. We hope you liked the coffin - it was pink! There were lots of people there. People who love you very much! You made so many friends. But you can rest peacefully now. We love you so much! We know you were there watching us, and helping us get through today. Thank you for that! Words can not express what we felt today, but we can say that whilst we had your Funeral, everyone felt an overwhelming sense of love, both for you and from you! You're such a miricle to us. Shine brightly for us, Angel. Lots and lots of love, Daddy and Mummy Xxxx
